As a follow up to What’s For Dinner? The 11/14/11 Edition, I started making my own taco seasoning a few months ago. I use coupons so it’s not that the seasoning is expensive, it’s just that we go through a lot of it at our house so it’s nice to have around in bulk. Plus, when you make your own you can control exactly what is in it.
I’ve used the recipe at Smashed Peas and Carrots as a starter and done some tweaking to our families tastes. A little spicier, a little saltier, still delicious! Here you see it stored in an old olive jar with a new label. We love our olives!
All this talk about Mexican/Southwest food is making me hungry.
